LINGAYEN,Pangasinan Mar 28 (PIA) - - The Provincial Health Office (PHO) here reported that as of March 24, about 8,384 Pangasinenses have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Anna De Guzman said the provincial government is determined in its immunization program to protect the public and reduce morbidity rates due to COVID-19.
De Guzman said all the vaccinations were administered to the priority sector, to include medical frontliners in public and private health facilities in Pangasinan.
The vaccine recipients are broken down as follows: 1,548 from the nine provincial government-run hospitals; 2,625 at the Region 1 Medical Center; 1,976 from private hospitals; and 2,235 from local government units.
The PHO also assured that every consumed vial of vaccine is returned to the Department of Health (DOH) for proper waste management.
Meanwhile, in the Network Briefing episode, DOH Calabarzon Regional Director Eduardo Janairo said that for the vaccination in his area, they prioritize referral hospitals followed by public-private hospitals catering to COVID-19 patients since supply is very few.
