SLU is top performing school  in   MedTech board exam,UB at 4th 

BAGUIO CITY, March 30(PIA) -- Two   universities in Baguio City are among the  top performing schools in the recently released results of the March 2021 Medical Technologist licensure examination.

Saint Louis University remains as  the top performing school with 246 successful examinees out of the total 251 for a passing rate of 98.01 percent. Two of its examinees also landed in the Top 10. SLU is also the top performing school in the January 2021 Medtech board exam recording a 100 percent passing rate with all its 139 examinees making  it.

 The University of Baguio is the fourth top performing school in the  March exam with 90.37 passing rate with 122  passers out of the 135 total examinees.  One  is in the list of top 10 passers.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced  last  March 25  that 1,921 out of 3,251 examinees  passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medical Technology in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Pangasinan, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga this March 2021. 

Ryal Anthony Caliboso Lauron of UB and Julius Ryan Riola Salmos of SLU are at the fourth spot with 87.60 rating while Aldous Rein Baldonado Nonog of SLU is on the top 9 spot with an 86.90 rating.

The PRC said that registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line for the new medtechs from April 20 to May 14, 2021.  Successful examinees are advised to go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. Those who will register are required to bring the following: downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, notice of admission (for identification only), two pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), two sets of documentary stamps and one piece short brown envelope.

 Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals. 

 The PRC added that those who failed to pass the board examination for Medical Technology but had obtained a general rating of at least 70% can register as Medical Laboratory Technician. The date and venue for the oath taking ceremony of the new medical technologists examination will be announced later.(JDP/RMC –PIA CAR)
