TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental, Mar. 31 (PIA)—Tangub City started to administer AstraZeneca shots to 127 barangay health workers (BHWs) held at the vaccination center of GADTC.
Serena Omandam, 66, a member of Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) of Barangay Lumban said she really wanted to get the vaccine.
“Wala gayud ko'y nasinati. Pag-ingon nila nga naa'y vaccine, wala gayud ko nabalaka. Nagpa-vaccine jud ko kay akong gisalig sa Ginoo ang tanan,” she said after getting her AstraZeneca jab.
(I was never worried when I heard about the vaccine. I decided to get vaccinated and I entrust everything to the Lord)
Tangub City Health Officer Jennifer Figueroa said some BHWs were not vaccinated due to their blood pressure and condition.
“I am very happy that the barangay health workers got vaccinated and there were no reported adverse effects after the vaccination,” she added.
Figueroa also urged Tangubanons to get vaccinated saying, “Hinaut nga magpabakuna ta, ayaw mo kahadlok ka'y naa rami inig human ninyo ug bakuna i-monitor gayud mo pero before mo bakunahan i-check sad mo kung angay ba gayud mo pabakunahan ug amo gayud mong i-screen.
(I hope we all get vaccinated, don't be afraid because we will be here and after you get vaccinated, you will be monitored but before you will get the vaccine, we will also check and screen you)
The target number of healthcare workers on the second day of vaccination is 179 for the 29 barangays in the city. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
