DPWH completes P29M COVID-19 Facility in Dupax del Norte town

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, April 24(PIA) - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of an Isolation Facility in barangay Malasin in Dupax del Norte town.

The 32-bed isolation facility built within the Dupax District Hospital (DDH) compound is the first COVID-19 facility in the country made of container vans.

Dr. Edward Gines, DDH chief said the P29 million isolation facility will have the required manpower resources and medical supplies inorder to cater to COVID-19 patients especially those categorized as asymptomatic.

He said that each room of the isolation facility is complete with beds, air-conditioning units, electric fans, tables, chairs and comfort rooms.

“Since the rise of COVID-19 cases in our province, we were able to cater to 32 patients including two patients who were referred to the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital (NVPH),” Gines said.

He said the COVID-19 patients in the isolation facility were also served with food and vitamins, among others as they complete their required isolation period and treatment.

Gines said Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino and Cagayan were given funds to build their respective isolation facilities through the DPWH and DOH. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
