PH Navy, TV5 Alagang Kapatid Foundation reach out to Tondo fire victims amid pandemic

QUEZON CITY, April 30 (PIA) -- The Philippine Navy, through the Civil Military Operations Group (CMOG), in partnership with TV5 Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. recently provided aid to Tondo fire victims. 

Through CMOG-PN’s “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko,” a total of 120 families from Brgy. 11 Zone 2, District 1 in Tondo, Manila received basic goods such as rice, assorted vegetables, bread, hygiene kits, cleaning materials, school supplies, medicine, clothes and toys.

"Kami po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa Navy at sa Alagang Kapatid sa gitna ng hinaharap nating sitwasyon ay patuloy pa din at walang sawa kayong tumutulong sa amin. Nawa'y patuloy pa kayo palakasin at pagpalain ng Panginoon Diyos" expressed by one of the barangay officials.

The Philippine Navy is always ready to help the Filipino people amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

To recall, a fire broke out at a residential area in Tondo, Manila before dawn on Tuesday. Some 20 families were left homeless.

The fire razed 10 houses along Pilapil street in Dagupan, Tondo. The fire reached the third alarm and was put out after three hours.

Damage to property was placed at P300,000. (PIA NCR)
