ILIGAN CITY, Apr. 1 (PIA)--Residents of Sitio Cadayunan in Brgy. Rogongon publicly incinerated flags of the Communist Party of the Philippines - New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDF) during the City Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict’s (CTF-ELCAC’s) serbisyo caravan in the locality.
The rite transpired to denounce any act of rebellion in the city and to symbolize bold engagement and commitment to stand hand-in-hand with the government in its battle against rebel communists in line with the 52nd founding anniversary of the CPP-NPA.
With this, constituents of Sitio Cadayunan vowed to firmly support the government in concluding vicious activities brought by the CPP-NPA-NDF.
[We will show them how much we love them and what kind of support they also give to us. From now on and forever, what they showed to us will continue.]
[Along with the Datus and Baes, if possible, we will not really go with those on the other side because it will just give us problems.]
They also call on their fellow residents to not be persuaded by the deceiving promises and lies by the rebel group.
[My neighbors, if you observe someone in your area or vicinity who will convince you, do not believe. What we will believe is just the government.]
To fully show their adherence to the government, residents in the said sitio took an oath for their allegiance to their pronounced promise of support.
Meanwhile, the government also urged remaining active rebels to return to the fold of law as new life awaits them.
Col. Rommel Pereña, commander of the 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion.
[What we all want is peace. We do not aim for chaos so to all the rebels who are still there, please surrender already because you already saw your comrades who already surrendered. If you surrender, lots of benefits will be given to you by the government and we hope that you also convince your other companions.] (CRG/ PIA-ICIC)
