VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA)- Five business establishments from different towns in this island province were conferred the Bronze Bagwis Seal by the office here of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The five were Emerald Hardware & Construction Supplies (Banawang, Bato); Yoshihira Beauty Center (Salvacion, Virac); BK Twins Trading (Salvacion, Virac); Tindahan ni Apdo (JM Alberto, Baras); and Mitsukoshi Motors Philippines Inc.-Virac Branch (San Roque, Virac). All received the certificate and seal on April 16, 2021.
According to DTI Provincial Director Ma. Belma Q. Escueta, the seal serves as a guide and assurance for consumers that the establishments offer safe and quality products at the best value for money.
It recognizes business establishments that strictly adhere to various consumer laws, having Consumer Welfare Desks, and giving quality customer care.
DTI Bagwis Seal of Excellence is classified into gold, silver and bronze. For the Bronze Seal, establishments must comply with fair trade laws like the Consumer Act, Price Act, Price Tag and install the Consumer Welfare Desk.
Also, it covers supermarket, department stores and specialty stores, appliance centers, hardware stores and DTI-accredited service and repair shops.
To date, DTI Catanduanes has 35 Bagwis awardees. (PIA5/Catanduanes)
