CDO taps Brgy info officers to beef up campaign vs COVID-19

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May 17 (PIA)--With the rise of the COVID-19 cases in Northern Mindanao, the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) here is strengthening its Information Education Campaign (IEC) by tapping the Barangay Information Officers (BIOs).

As proper information is the key in fighting the surge of cases in any area, the EOC tapped the BIOs to remind them that they play an important role in informing every Kagay-anon on how to prevent COVID-19 as well as on the ordinances that are being implemented by the city.

"Whatever we do in the city level and the national level, if, in the barangay lacks mobility, we cannot attain the solution to the problem that we are facing," DILG City Director Jane Docallos said during the recent meeting with BIOs.

Docallos shared that the EOC is conducting a twice-a-day meeting for the task force to look for ways to prevent the increasing COVID-19 cases in the city.  "But, the success of all these efforts lies in the hands of the barangays," Docallos stressed.

The EOC hopes that the enthusiasm of the BIOs, Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT), Barangay Officials, and Barangay Chairpersons will continue.

"Together we will face and solve this problem. Together we will fight," Docallos said.(JAKA/PIA10)
