DILG launches Safety Seal Certification in Pinamalayan

PINAMALAYAN, Oriental Mindoro, May 28 (PIA) -- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) launched here recently the Safety Seal Certification program as a compliance to an establishment of the minimum health standards required by government to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The seal is a voluntary certification scheme that seeks to encourage the adoption and use of the StaySafe.ph digital contact tracing application as well as increase consumer confidence.

Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Amelia Ramos presented the content and objectives of DILG Memorandum No. 2021-053.

Ramos expounded on the content of the memorandum which mandates the local government to grant Safety Seal Certification to establishments that implement and comply with the minimum health protocols mandated by the Department of Health (DOH) and Inter-Agency Task Force (AITF).

Ramos said the establishments that will pass the inspection by the local government will be awarded with the said certification, which can be displayed in the establishments as proof of safety.

Further, Ramos said that having Safety Seal Certification will give confidence to clients and customers that the establishments are COVID-safe because they strictly implement mitigating measures against the virus.

DILG encouraged everyone to download and use the StaySafe.ph application for more systematic way of contact tracing. (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
