BAGUIO CITY, May 28(PIA) -- Cordillerans ruled the recently conducted Radiologic Technologist and X-Ray Technologist Licensure Examinations.
Gail Tullo Quinto from Tangadan, San Quintin, is the Top 2 of the recently released results of the May 2021 Radiologic Technologist board exam with passing rate of 90.20 percent.
The Provincial Government of Abra congratulated the Abrenio lady for her achievement. In a social media post, “Ipagpanpannakkel ni Gail nga isuna ket maysa nga Abrenio. Ti awagda kenkuana a “taga bantay” idi agbasbasa iti kolehio sadiay Lorma Colleges, La Union ket isu ti nagbalin a karit kenkuana nga igaedna ti panagbasana. (Gail is proud that she is an Abrenio. She has been tagged as “from the mountains” when she was studying at the Lorma College in La Union but this challenged her to strive and finish her studies.)
Quinto was a scholar of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the local government of San Quintin. She also served as a contact tracer during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
Two ladies from Kalinga also landed in the top 10 of the Radiologic Technologist board exam. In Top 3 spot is Russel Eliza Amangan Cuaresma from Pasil, Kalinga while Charimar Nadine Cayoma Ordonio from Pinukpuk, Kalinga placed sixth. Cuaresma and Ordonio obtained rating of 90% and 88.60%, respectively. Both graduated their Bachelor's degree from the Saint Louis University (SLU) in Baguio City.
SLU is a top performing school in this examination with 89.06% passing rate with 57 passers among the 64 examinees. Aside from the two Kalinga ladies, SLU produced three other led by Noli Almazar Samonte who is the Top 1 with a 90.80% rating; Russel John Garcia Paulo- Top 3, and Azriel Zoe Paquito-Top 10 .
Meanwhile, Mayshell Baliling Basiag of Tabuk City, Kalinga topped the May 2021 X-Ray Technologist Licensure Examination.
Basiag, an alumnus of the International School of Asia and the Pacific in Tabuk City, Kalinga had a rating of 84.75, which placed her in the Top 1.
“Indeed, another Ykalinga taking pride by showing her perseverance in studying. This achievement will mark on the history of Kalinga since it is also a first time that a school established in the province produced a topnotcher,” the provincial government of Kalinga stated in a social media post.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 776 out of 1,917 passed the Radiologic Technologist Licensure Examination and 21 out of 77 passed the X-Ray Technologist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Radiologic Technology in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pangasinan, Tacloban and Tuguegarao this May 2021.
The PRC announced that from June 15 to June 30, 2021, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Passers are advised to go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.
Those who will register are required to bring the following: downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, notice of admission (for identification only), 2 pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps and 1 piece short brown envelope.
Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals. (JDP/RMC- PIA CAR)
