Through the partnership of DOLE XI and the Provincial and Barangay Local Government Unit of Davao Occidental, the joint project Community Pabahay sa Barangay Program aims to provide shelter to the single parents, widowed, and poverty-stricken senior citizens of the said barangay.

The beneficiaries will build their own houses using the materials and equipment provided by the Province and BLGU and will be compensated through DOLE’s TUPAD.

“We are delighted to be a part of this program. DOLE is hoping that through this project, our beneficiaries will have security and comfort. May this project be an opportunity for them to have a more productive life,” Engr. Arce D. Sinajon, Acting Provincial Head of DOLE XI-DOCFO, said in his speech.

Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo also stressed that projects like this are manifestations that DOLE offers more than just jobs to the community, the office aligns projects with the priorities of the local government unit to promote gainful employment opportunities to everyone. (PR)
