QUEZON CITY, May 28 (PIA) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Thursday announced that some government offices based in the National Capital Region (NCR) have signified their intention to hold the pen and paper exam for their offices.

During the public briefing on Thursday, CSC Commissioner Atty. Aileen Lizada said that some government agencies based here in the NCR have submitted their request and signified their intention for the conduct of the pen and paper exam for civil service eligibility.
“…Because of this what’s happening in NCR, marami ho tayong limitasyon. But ang ginagawa ho natin for NCR now ay agency-based pen and paper test. Ang CSC na po ang pupunta sa ahensya ng gobyerno at kami po ang magbibigay ng exam subject to the protocols ng IATF,” explained Comm. Lizada.
Lizada said this initiative will be able to help job order (JO) and contract of service (COS) employees who have longed served in the government to have a chance for a regular position.
She said that the following government agencies have signified their intention to hold the pen and paper exam:
- House of Representatives
- Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)
- Department of Trade and Industry Foreign Trade Service Corps (DTI)
- Landbank of the Philippines (LBP)
- Boy Scouts of the Philippines
- Land Transportation Office (LTO)
- Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA)
- Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)
- Quezon City Task Force on Solid Waste Management
- Department of Labor and Employment-NCR
- Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)
- Tourism Promotions Board
- Office of the President (OP)
- Presidential Management Staff (PMS)
- Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)
- Bureau of Treasury (BOT)
- DepEd National Academy of Sports
- Commission on Human Rights (CHR)
- Department of Health (DOH)
- Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)
- Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
- Department of Transportation (DOTr)
- Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA)
- Department of Justice (DOJ)
- Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO)
- Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC)

Lizada said the CSC have already received the request from said agencies and were also pleased that the commission is offering this exam.
The CSC official also explained that an ocular inspection on the suggested venue will be done to ensure compliance to the protocols set by the IATF.
Meanwhile, the pen and paper examination in Regions 1, 6, 7, 12 and BARMM is set on July 18, 2021. Lizada said that the pen and paper exam to be held in said regions are based on consultation with their regional directors and in coordination with the local chief executives, local authorities, and regional IATF.
Likewise, Lizada shared the ongoing computerized examination in CSC Regional Offices 4, 6, 7, 8, CARAGA, and CAR.
Comm. Lizada called on all JOs and COS in the government to take the opportunity to take the exam and likewise called on all government officials and employees to follow all protocols being implemented and to give their best in humbly serving the public. (PIA NCR)
