MISAMIS ORIENTAL, May 4 (PIA)--The additional 60,000 doses of CoronaVac (Sinovac) vaccines which arrived last May 1 at the Laguindingan Airport will be be distributed to four priority sectors as identified by the Department of Health (DOH)-10.
“The 60,000 doses of vaccines are divided into four [accoording to four priority sectors],” Dr. David Mendoza of DOH-10 said, adding "the prioritization is being determined as to the needs of the local government units (LGUs).
He furthered that the priorities are as follows: Priority one are the LGUs with more than 120 frontline healthcare workers who have not been vaccinated [to achieve at least 85% vaccination coverage] and its quick substitution list composed of the healthy senior citizens aged 60-65.
Meanwhile, priority two consists of LGUs with at least 85% coverage of vaccinated healthcare workers; priority three are LGUs with less than 120 healthcare workers unvaccinated, and priority four are LGUs that had reached 85% coverage of vaccination for the frontline healthcare workers.
“The primary target is the unvaccinated frontline healthcare workers while the quick substitution list refers to unvaccinated or walk-in healthcare providers, health frontline workers, and then the senior citizens aged 60-65,” Dr. Mendoza explained.
DOH continues to encourage the public to support the vaccination rollout of the government and get the vaccines when their schedule comes. (JAKA/PIA10)
