The “Buy Local” program aims to promote the locally-made products, particularly those from the Micro, Small & Medium  Enterprises.

During the collaboration meeting, the DTI team led by Provincial Director Ma. Sofia G. proposed the conduct of a Mini Agro Fair featuring the university’s agri products (vegetable and rice) and other local products of MSMEs.

For its part, the team from QSU led President Hermenegildo F. Samoy Jr. agreed to profile their students to determine what commodities are being produced by their parents.

Also proposed during the meeting is the conduct of Business Opportunities Webinars on the different commodities for students and their farmer-parents.

President Samoy also pushed for the introduction of  “Off-season Mango Production Technology”  to boost the production of the province including the  university’s 100-hectare mango farm which is presently managed by a contractor.

On the other hand, Narag said DTI will  always collaborate with the academe to help the MSMEs as she stressed that QSU is  a big help especially in the conduct of trainings. (MDCT/TCB/PIA 2-Quirino)
