TESDA MisOcc launches community pantry to aid 37 households

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental, May 3 (PIA)—The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Misamis Occidental in parnership with the City Government of Oroquieta, Provincial Police Office (PPO), Philippine National Police (PNP), 10th Infantry Battalion (IB) launched the Community Pantry “Hatag taman sa makaya kuha base sa kinahanglan” at Sitio Bagong Tipan, Barangay Toliyok.

This program aims to extend and deliver services and programs to the community, and to show ‘Bayanihan’ spirit, which is innate to the Filipino culture. It is where people help others, and those have been aided give back to the community.

“Nakita nato ang Bagong Tipan uban sa Barangay Toliyok nga apil sa NTF [National Task Force] listed or priority barangay kay part sa programa sa gobyerno sama sa atong Presidente gaingon nga Whole-of-Nation Approach aron matabangan ang katawhan ug makalingkawas sa poblima sa insurgency,” TESDA Provincial Director El Cid Castillo said.

(Bagong Tipan together with Barangay Toliyok, was included with the NTF listed or priority barangay because it is part of the program of our government, the Whole-of-Nation Approach to help the people and to get out of problems of insurgency)

He explained that the government is sincere to help and provide programs closer to the people.

“Nagdala ta ug tabang hinabang alang sa 37 households ug sa atong mga barangay tanod kay mao na'y pamaagi na maabot kaninyo ang pagkasinsero sa gobyerno bisag sa panahon sa pandemya magtinabangay ta aron makahatag ta ug kalipay sa atong kauban sa baryo,” Castillo added.

(We are bringing aid for the 37 households and also to our barangay tanods because this is one way to reach you with the sincerity of the government that even in this time of the pandemic, we will work together to bring happiness to our fellow villagers)

TESDA also announced that it is set to offer a training program for raise-organic Chicken and vegetable production to give livelihood to the residents of Sitio Bagong Tipan.

The community pantry displayed with hygiene kits, farm produced products, basic commodities such as canned goods, noodles and other essentials for the residents in the area. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
