ILIGAN CITY, May 26 (PIA)--Only two residents of Kauswagan municipality in Lanao del Norte hesitated in getting the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 vaccine shot.
Kauswagan Mayor Rommel Arnado shared during the Network Briefing News with Communications Secretary Martin Andanar on Tuesday that vaccine hesitancy is not a major problem in his municipality.
He said only very few are hesitant to take the COVID-19 jab because it's an entirely new vaccine.
"Hindi naman nating maiiwasan na meron maghesitate pero kung titingnan mo ang total number, konti lang ang naghesitate. Lahat naman sumasang-ayon, they believe on the government, pag galing sa gobyerno alam nila na hindi naman makakasama sa atin," he said.
[We can't avoid it that some are hesitant but if you look at the total number, only a few have hesitated. Everyone agrees, they believe in the government, when it is from the government it won't have bad effects.]
Arnado said the vaccine rollout in the municipality is going smoothly but a little slower due to the availability of vaccines. He hopes that more vaccines will arrive in the municipality.
"It's a little slower but we are getting there," he assured.
As of Tuesday, a total of 611 individuals have been vaccinated in Kauswagan. (APB/PIA-ICIC)
