Wait for guidelines on semi-border closing- Mayor Sara

DAVAO CITY, May 3 (PIA)- Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio urged Dabawenyos  to wait for the guidelines to be issued by the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19 headed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government XI on the semi-closed border for Davao Region.

She endorsed the semi-closed border proposal as a way forward for strict screening for inbound passengers in the borders of Region XI as recommended by the Department of Health.

Duterte-Carpio explained the semi-closed border is not much a concern for people inside Davao Region.

“Davao Region is composed of the provinces of Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental with Davao City as the chartered city and the components cities namely Mati, Tagum, Panabo, Island Garden City of Samal and Digos,” she said.

Duterte-Carpio said anything that needs to be implemented in the Region, the RIATF and the RITF must be followed.

She called on the people to wait for the RIATF and RITF on the guidelines on the semi-closed border as a measure to control the spread of the COVID-19 infection.

Duterte-Carpio cited the need to portray the COVID-19 positive without naming names, in order for the people to learn a lesson from them.

She said the people have the right to know how the disease is contracted by someone.

Duterte-Carpio advised everyone to take the option of virtual meeting to prevent contracting the disease.

She also expressed respect for of Ivermectin for COVID-19 cure.

However, she advised people not to endorse this product because only the World Health Organization, Food and Drug Administration, Food and Drug Administration, Department of Health and infectious disease specialists can say if indeed this medicine is effective. (PIA XI-Joey Sem G. Dalumpines)
