CALOOCAN CITY, June 2 (PIA) -- In partnership with the Greenhills Mall and the Music Museum Group, San Juan City on Tuesday opened the Cinemas 1 and 2 of the Theatre Mall in Greenhills Mall as its second vaccination center, which can cater to up to 1,500 vacinees a day.
This is in addition to the 2,000 that the vaccination center in FilOil Flying V Centre is able to administer per day, as the San Juan City Government aims to further expand its vaccination program with the establishement of additional jab centers.
We chose to partner with the Greenhills Mall not only because it has always been supporting the local government for the longest time in terms of our COVID-19 response and interventions but also because we want to end our fight against COVID-19 right here where it was first reported,” said Mayor Francis.
San Juan City was considered as the country’s ground zero in the fight against COVID-19 after the first local transmission of the virus in the country was reported in the Muslim prayer hall of the shopping mall on March 6, 2020. This made Mayor Zamora even more determined to win the battle against the dreaded disease.
San Juan City has so far vaccinated a total of 28,200 from the A1, A2 and A3 categories or 33% of the target population. San Juan City has already exhausted the list of registrants in its registration system under the A1, A2 and A3 categories.
As of press time, the new vaccination center has inoculated 300 individuals from the A2 and A3 priority groups who have previously registered at the Vaccination Registration Online Portal.
Once given the go signal by the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases), Cinemas 1 and 2 of Theatre Mall in Greenhills Mall will cater to A4 non-resident individuals while the FilOil Flying V Centre will inoculate A4 San Juan residents. The latter will also continue to cater A1, A2 and A3 categories with special lanes allocated to them, as prescribed by the IATF. (PIA NCR)
