DUMAGUETE CITY, June 5 (PIA) -- The Dumaguete City Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-MEID) has identified more isolation facilities to manage the rising COVID-19 cases in the city.

The task force is also set to enforce stricter measures especially for travelers against COVID-19.

Councilor Manuel Sagarbarria reiterated the request of the City IATF for the Department of Education to allow public schools with adequate amenities to be converted into isolation and quarantine facilities.

City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla and Calindagan Punong Barangay Maria Isabel Sagarbaria also reiterated the policy of the City IATF not to allow the entry of travelers without the required negative RT-PCR results and the Certificate of Acceptance prior to travel.

Health marshals under Executive Assistant for Security Concerns, retired Gen. Rey Lyndon Lawas, committed to intensify the enforcement on the prohibition of mass gathering, drinking in public, non-wearing of face masks, nightly curfew, and other health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This is also in support to the newly issued Executive Order 16 of Gov. Roel Degamo of which the members of the task force convened and discussed some directives. (jct/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
