PASIG CITY, June 2 (PIA) --  The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) today announced that the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), also known as the number coding scheme, remains suspended in Metro Manila.

In an advisory, MMDA said that the number coding scheme is "still suspended until further notice" since Metro Manila is still under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with restrictions.

The National Capital Region and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal are placed under GCQ with restrictions, from June 1 to June 15, 2021 following the decision of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

The MMDA also reminded the public that strict implementation of minimum public health standards will continue in order to curb the spread of COVID-19.

To recall, the Unified Vehicle Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), or simply known as the number coding scheme, is a program implemented by the MMDA that restricts both private and public utility vehicles from traversing the roads based on the last digit of the vehicle's license plate. (PIA NCR)
