Over 51K get Covid-19 jabs on first hours of vax drive

MANILA – At least 51,375 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19 as of Monday morning, during the first day of Bayanihan, Bakunahan national vaccination drive which lasts until December 1.

The figure is from the noon update of the National Vaccination Dashboard.

"Nasa 200 LGUs [local government units] pa lang ang nagsu-submit ng report sa (About 200 LGUs so far we're able to submit reports to the) operations center," said National Vaccination Operations Center Chairperson and Department of Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje in an online media briefing.

The National Task Force Against Covid-19 and the National Vaccination Operations Center will provide updates on the latest vaccination count for the campaign every four hours starting noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The government targets to vaccinate 9 million individuals during the three-day campaign in an effort to boost the numbers of persons protected from the coronavirus nationwide.

The public is encouraged to seize the chance to get vaccinated during these three days.

Earlier, November 29 to December 1 are declared “special working days," providing workers from the public and private sector the opportunity to leave work to be vaccinated. (PNA)
