Fair weather seen in Luzon, Visayas; rains continue in Mindanao

MANILA – Luzon and the Visayas will continue to experience fair weather due to the easterlies, while Mindanao will have rains caused by the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the weather bureau said Tuesday.

Fair weather with isolated rains due to thunderstorms is expected over Luzon, with temperatures to likely reach 35 °C in Metro Manila and Tuguegarao and 34 °C in Laoag, weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The Visayas, he said, will have fair weather, with isolated rains likely in the afternoon or evening.

Temperature in Davao may reach up to 34 °C and up to 32 °C in Cebu, Iloilo, Tacloban and Zamboanga.

Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. PAGASA also forecasts flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Aurelio said no weather disturbance or low pressure area currently being monitored inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail over the entire archipelago. (PNA)
