Enchanted Kingdom lights up 22-foot Christmas lantern

SANTA ROSA CITY—A prominent theme part has formally joined Christmas celebrations with unique features highlighted by a 22-foot lantern as the centrepiece.

The Enchanted Kingdom (EK), reputedly the first and only world class theme park in the Philippines, on Sunday switched on the parol made by Pampanga’s renowned lantern whiz Eric Bondoc Quiwa.

Also helping light up the entire EK facility are 100 smaller lanterns strategically installed throughout the park.

In her message, Santa Rosa Mayor Arlene Arcillas said; “All over the Philippines the biggest parol lighted is here in the Enchanted Kingdom in the City of Santa Rosa.”

“I would like to thank EK for helping Santa Rosa City grow. EK has made Santa Rosa its home for 28 years,” Arcillas said.

She also noted that EK has been a way of life for the people of Santa Rosa, where they come together on quality time for bonding and sharing of memories.

The mayor also said EK has been the city’s top taxpayer.

EK president and chairman Mario Mamon said their theme park “is committed to showcase the Filipino Christmas tradition of parols and local
decorations to bring nostalgia during the holiday season.”

“It is no doubt that Christmas is the most festive and magical time of the year
in the Philippines. As a proud Filipino company, EK is the ideal place where Filipino families can create more magical experiences and reminisce about their most enchanted Christmas stories,” Mamon said.
