CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Apr. 28 (PIA) – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) provincial office announces that application to the Small Business Wage Subsidy (SBWS) program to help workers of micro and small business establishments displaced due to the COVID-19 pandemicis is now open.
DOLE-Kalinga Provincial Head Avelina Manganip qualified beneficiaries to this one-time cash grant will receive P5, 500 based on prevailing daily minimum wage in the region.
Business establishments eligible to the subsidy are those not accommodated under the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) earlier offered by the DOLE, Manganip said.
It is recalled that DOLE closed application to the CAMP due to depleted fund. The money for the SBWS comes from the Department of Finance (DOF) and Social Security System (SSS).
Complying with the social distance protocol, application for the SBWS is done online. Deadline of application is May 8, 2020. Applicants may apply at dof.gov.ph/business-wage-subsidy or www.bir.gov.ph or www.sss.gov.ph.
In related development, Kalinga which has zero COVID-19 case, is included in the list of provinces which will shifting to general community quarantine (GCQ) from enhanced community quarantine effective May 1. The province’s Inter- agency Task Force is set to come up with the local GCQ guidelines this week. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
