DAVAO DEL NORTE, May 25 (PIA) - Inter-province bus operation for Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro routes is set to start tomorrow (May 26) taking off at Panabo City Transport Terminal.

Dioso, “opening  the routes in Davao  del Norte, Davao de Oro, Davao Oriental  and Davao del Sur under the authority of a special permit  for  the operation of public transportation under General Community Quarantine”.

LTFRB starts opening routes in Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro for areas in the northern provinces of Davao Region as the agency  is yet to acquire the approval of the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental for public utility buses (PUBs)  to enter.

LTFRB XI Regional Director, Atty Armand B. Dioso yesterday (May 24) met with City Mayor Jose E.Relampagos and Governor Edwin I.Jubahib, represented by Provincial Administrator Josie Jean R. Rabanos, discussing preparation for the resumption of  the bus operation.

Passengers are allowed to board the PUBs only at terminals. Operators have also been informed that buses are not allowed to drop off and pick up passengers along the highway and that operation hours is set to run  from  5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Starting off at Panabo terminal, routes to be served in Davao del Norte are going towards Sto Tomas, Kapalong and Tagum City, stopping at bus terminals in areas to pass by, en route to destinations.

Destinations in Davao de Oro are Laak, Compostela, Maragusan, and Monkayo, stopping over at bus terminals in route to destinations, as well.

Among the requisites in boarding the PUBs are quarantine pass with identification card and work pass with identification card.

As they are prohibited to go out of their home during GCQ,  the 21 years old and below, the 60 years old and above, the pregnant, those with co-morbidities and those of low immune system are not allowed to board the PUBs.

Running at 50 percent capacity only to observe physical distancing, buses are equipped with disinfectants and thermal scanners to check manifestations of COVID-19 infection. (PIA XI Jeanevive Duron Abangan with reports from the City Information Office of Panabo)
