The PPEs which came after their request aims to equip frontline hospital workers with the necessary gear to mitigate the spread of the virus.

The virus which can spread from person to person through droplets is commonly proliferated through sneezing and coughing.

"With these PPEs, we can maximize the care of our patients and also protect our health workers who are high risk of getting infected in the hospital, we have a requested this for level 2 and level 3 hospitals who conveyed that they will accept COVID-19 patients, so we prioritized them for the allocation since they have some PUI’s who are admitted," DOH-10 Health Education and Promotion Officer (HEPO), Aian Rebollido Caridad shared.

“We definitely have to protect our health care workers, it’ll be really difficult if we lose them,” she stressed, relaying the importance of health workers. (Vincent Philip S. Bautista/PIA10)
