Lanao del Norte dialogues with religious leaders on fight vs COVID-19

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte, May 30 (PIA) -In preparation for the implementation of the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) on June 1, 2020, the provincial government of Lanao del Norte gathered Friday, May 29, members of the Interfaith Ministries in the province to seek suggestions and inputs for the crafting of measures and other health protocols in the conduct of Church services.

Under the MGCQ, mass gatherings are allowed including religious activities provided that health protocols and other important measures are strictly implemented and observed and followed by the Churchgoers.

With this, the Provincial Government organized a dialogue amongst the religious leaders to get their commitment as partners to ensure the safety and health of the people.

Aside from the stringent observation of physical or social distancing which will limit only to 50% of the total capacity of the area and the wearing of face mask, the religious leaders agreed to place footbaths, designate sanitation areas, post signage to remind the faithful, and disinfect the Church right after each service.

Moreover, in compliance with the 50% guideline, religious leaders have also agreed to add more services to accommodate the rest of the Church members.

Governor Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo expressed deep appreciation to the religious leaders who have helped the Provincial Government in many ways to sustain the unity of the people that paves the way in sustaining peace and development in the Province of Lanao del Norte.

Recognizing the essential role of the religious sectors in the province, the Governor appealed to the religious leaders to help disseminate the right information to their congregation on how to protect themselves against the perilous threat of the Coronavirus Disease 2019.
