CALOOCAN CITY, May 24 (PIA) -- Makati Mayor Abby Binay has called on new graduates of both public and private senior high schools in the city to apply for college scholarship under the Makati City Revitalized Scholarship Program (MCRSP), as the city government has extended the application period to June 30, 2020.
The mayor said in light of the current situation, the submission of applications will be done online through the MCRSP Online Application Portal found in the link: https://bit.ly/MCRSP2020.
“We encourage graduates of school year 2019-2020 to apply online now and submit the initial requirements for a college scholarship fully funded by the city government. They still have over one month to obtain required documents from their respective schools before the deadline of submission on June 30,” Mayor Abby said.
To qualify for the scholarship for school year 2020-2021, an applicant must be: a bona fide resident of the City of Makati, at least five years before his/her application, and part of the top 10 percent of the graduating class of senior high school, school year 2019-2020.
Qualified applicants will also be asked to undertake a service agreement with the city to signify their commitment to serve with the city government for at least two years after graduation.
The initial requirements to be submitted together with the filled-out application form are as follows: scanned copy of the certification from the senior high school that the scholarship applicant belongs to the top 10 percent of the graduation class of senior high school, and soft copy of the Notice of Admission from the chosen college or university.
The mayor underscored that the said procedure will be applicable only during this period of modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), and even under general community quarantine (GCQ).
“Once normal operations resume at City Hall, we will revert to the usual application process and submission of requirements,” Mayor Abby said.
