Navotas waives housing fees anew

CALOOCAN CITY, May 25 (PIA) -- The City Government of Navotas has passed another ordinance waiving the maintenance fees of its housing projects and rental facilities.

The Navotas Public Information Office told the PIA-NCR, per City Ordinance No. 2020-29, residents of NavotaAs Residences at Brgy. San Roque and NavotaAs Homes 1 and 2 at Barangay Tanza 2, do not have to pay the P300 monthly maintenance fee of their housing unit until June this year.

Residents may also use for free the NavoKabuhayan stalls and the three multi-purpose halls at NavotaAs Homes 1 and 2 until the same period.

Payments made for March to June will be carried over and applied to the months of July 2020 and onwards.

“These fees have been waived since March until May 2020 as inscribed in City Ordinance No. 2020-12. However, we had to adjust the validity period of this policy because the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Navotas has been extended until May 31,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.

“A number of Navoteño families have suffered financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some have lost their jobs, others have not been able to go to work for various reasons. We hope that by waiving the housing fees, we can somehow lighten their burden and help them as they face this crisis,” he added. (PIA NCR)
