Online registration facilities to promote entrepreneurship

DAVAO CITY, May  24 (PIA) – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI XI) is pushing for the revitalization of the local economy by promoting the establishment of new businesses through their established online business name registration facilities.

The Davao City Director for DTI XI Rachel Remitio discussed the necessity of having stream-lined processes when it comes to the registration of businesses while adhering to the public health safety measures for the current pandemic.

“We are really encouraging our business name applicants to do it online and in fact they have accepted this even before the COVID-19 pandemic", Remitio said. The DTI has institutionalized this system as early as 2019 which now allows for online processing.

That is why the current online business registration of the DTI is timely in cultivating entrepreneurial ventures despite the current limitations imposed by the ‘New Normal’ while also promoting the health safety standards of the general public.

Remitio added that the Department of Trade and Industry, in a way, has established means and ways for its business name applicants to avoid exposure through community transmission by physically going to the DTI offices to apply.

She also emphasized on the importance of adhering to the requirements of both the local and national government in the legitimate operation of businesses and how this is an advantage to both the consumer and the business venture.

“Para sa amua it is a campaign, kung naa kay business, legal ang imong operation because you have all the necessary permits…you can brag that you are existing legally and you will have the confidence of the consuming public (For us, it is a campaign, if, say, you have a business, you are operating legally because you have all the necessary permits),” Remitio said.
