LGU-Naval provides 'Alayon’ services to Ormoc

NAVAL, Biliran, June 4 (PIA) -- The local government unit of Naval, through Sangguniang Bayan Member Fina Josep, informed they provide “Alayon” services to Ormoc City.

The “Alayon” initiative is a free service errand for Navaleños and Biliranons as well for those who need medicines and other foods supplies for the sick, senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), children, and other vulnerable groups.

SB Member Josep, who is in charge of the program, is also the chairman of the Health and Sanitation Committee.

Other “Alayon” services also include sending necessary items from Naval, which are not bulky and heavy, to family members in Ormoc City. Instead of personally traveling to Ormoc to buy these necessities and take other items to Ormoc, the “Alayon” will do these all for the concerned individuals.

Josep advised those who wish to avail of the “Alayon” services to contact her office preferable a day before the scheduled departure.

She also advised senior citizens and PWDs to include their IDs, booklets, and doctors’ prescription to avail of their privileged discounts.

Josep informed the LGU service vehicle that complements the “Alayon” task plies Naval-Ormoc-Naval on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

The same vehicle carries dialysis patients from Naval to Ormoc City as part of the LGU’s "Hatid Sundo" Program to help ease their travel ordeal at the border checkpoints and the absence of public transportation during the quarantine period.

Josep was guest at PIA-Biliran’s recent Pulong-Pulong ng Bayan over Radyo Natin-Naval. (nbq/mlt/PIA8 Biliran)
