Western Visayas has 300 new cops

ILOILO CITY, July 2 (PIA) -- A total 300 recruits of Police Regional Office 6 took oath, July 1, 2020, before PRO 6 Regional Director Brigadier General Rene P. Pamuspusan.

In a ceremony held at the Camp Martin Teofilo B Delgado Grandstand here, Pamuspusan reminded the Philippine National Police (PNP) recruits that much is expected from them being already “government’s property,” a press release from the PRO6 Information Office said.

He said that these new cops are now subject to the rules, policies and regulations governing the PNP organization.

The 300 new breed of police officers, who took their oath, are composed of 255 male and 45 female.

The ceremony was simultaneously done nationwide and included the virtual presence of PNP Chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, who was the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the ceremony.

The newly hired cops will undergo the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) for six months at the Regional Training School 6 in Bacolod City to be followed by another six months of Field Training Program (FTP) which will qualify them for permanency, the press release said.

It added that as Patrolmen, they will receive a basic monthly salary of Php29,668.00 aside from allowances and other benefits

PRO6 also included 16 qualified applicants that took their oath but will be under PRO8 quota.

“This is to make use of the processing expense like medical examination cost which was already shouldered by PRO6. Also, said applicants already passed the stringent recruitment process like agility test, background investigation and interview,” the press release noted, adding that said step is beneficial for both the government and the pre-screened applicant.(JBG-PIA6/With report from PCol.
