Construction of Biliran prov’l isolation facility completed -- BDEO

NAVAL, Biliran, August 22 (PIA) -- The construction of the P7.3-M worth provincial isolation facility in the province of Biliran is already completed, according to the DPWH-Biliran District Engineering Office.

"The provincial isolation facility is 100 percent complete as of August 11,” District Engineer David P. Adongay Jr reported during the meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on August 13, held at the Biliran PDRRMO Operation Center in Naval.

Adongay said DPWH national office sets the completion for the construction of the provincial isolation facility for two weeks only but was completed in 35 days.

He added that the facility can accommodate 60 to 68 persons.

Based on the DPWH-BDEO project description and scope of work, the isolation facility located in Sitio Dapdap, Barangay Agpangi in Naval, is the conversion of Evacuation Center into Covid-19 Facility for Health Care Professionals and in Barangay Larrazabal, which is the Installation of Isolation Facility Tents for Infected Health Care Professionals.

The isolation facility located in the evacuation center has 28 divisions with one bed, one chair, one side table, one cabinet, and one oscillating stand fan each; one division for female sleeping quarters provided with two beds, two chairs, two side tables, two cabinets and two oscillating stand fans each; one division for decontamination area; one division for donning; one division for doffing; one division for triage area; one male comfort room; one female comfort room; one laundry area; one handwashing area; and one covered pathway from health personnel quarters to the isolation quarters.

 The isolation facility tents (15 sets) have one donning/doffing area; one disinfecting area; one decontamination area; one triage area; one kitchen food storage/pantry; one camp management area;  one male sleeping quarters provided with four beds,  four chairs, four side tables, four cabinets and four oscillating stand fans; one female sleeping quarters provided with four beds, four chairs, four side tables, four cabinets and four oscillating stand fans; seven isolation tents provided with four beds, four chairs, four side tables, four cabinets and four oscillating stand fans; one building for male and female CR; and one elevated water tank for water supply.

The provincial isolation facility is expected to beef up the accommodation of health care workers of the province now currently occupying in a private accommodation facility in Naval town. (ldl/rsv/PIA-Biliran)
