DSWD-CAR hastens payout of SAP 2nd tranche in Baguio,Benguet

BAGUIO CITY, Aug. 14 (PIA) - - The Department of Social Welfare and Development is  working double  time  to complete  the direct  payout of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) second tranche financial subsidy  to all qualified family beneficiaries in Baguio City and Benguet.  

DSWD – Cordillera  Regional Director Leo Quintilla, in a PIA- led Kapihan media forum Tuesday (Aug. 11),  reported  that they have already reached 84 percent accomplishments for the direct payout for second tranche SAP target beneficiaries, and hopes to completeit within the week. Most of those that  are yet  to be   reached  are  from  areas that are on lockdown due  COVID –  19 cases.

For the waitlisted SAP beneficiaries, direct payout  by DSWD – CAR already reached 97 percent accomplishment, he added.

Based on DSWD – CAR data,   total target is 98,490 family beneficiaries for the SAP second tranche of which  69,311  receive their P5,500 cash subsidy through Financial Service Provider  while 29, 196  thru  direct payout.

For the Benguet municipalities of Atok, Bakun, Bokod, Kabayan, Kibungan and Sablan, the SAP financial distribution  is  through Direct payout of DSWD-CAR. For Baguio City and Benguet municipalities of Itogon, Kapangan, Mankayan, La Trinidad, Tuba, and Tublay, distribution of cash assistance is  a mix of direct payout and through FSP.

Quintilla disclosed  that 100 percent of the fund allocation  thru FSP  is  already transferred to the contracted financial service providers and the beneficiaries are already being contacted and given instructions through the mobile phone numbers that they have registered.

Payout for   several family beneficiaries in Baguio City, Mankayan and Kapangan  is thru  Paymaya,  Star Pay  for Buguias and Itogon beneficiaries  and  G Cash for La Trinidad, Tuba and Tublay.

With the COVID pandemic bringing in new normal, Quintilla said  they are now working into how to incorporate the needed minimum health requirements and safety protocols to ensure the safety of their clients and the DSWD personnel and other local partners/stakeholders in the delivery of social welfare and development services to the people.
