BORONGAN CITY, August 12 (PIA) -- Local Chief Executives in Eastern Samar united to support the Department of Education (DepED) in the opening of classes School Year 2020-2021 on August 24, 2020.
In a virtual meeting conducted on August 10, attended by the School Heads of the different districts of Eastern Samar Division, one of the issues that came out is the difficulty in reproducing the learning modules due to printing costs.
Congresswoman Ma. Fe R. Abunda and Governor Ben P. Evardone offered to share the expenses of the printing costs.
“I assure you that I will immediately provide my assistance to my assigned district to start the reproduction,” Congresswoman Abunda said.
Meanwhile, the Information Officer of DepEd Eastern Samar Division, Mr. Abner C. Aclao said that no pandemic can ever hinder the willingness of Estehanon leaders to provide assistance to the education sector in this time of worldwide health emergency.
“We are always grateful in minds and in hearts to these two people who do everything for the good of the Eastern Samar,” Aclao added.
“I appreciate the effort and type of leadership in Eastern Samar. This is the first time that the Congresswoman and the Governor are united for the welfare of Estehanon learners,” Ms. Paz Dimaangay said in her FB account.
According to DepEd, modular learning is most preferred by parents for the conduct of distance learning for the coming School Year 2020-2021. (nbq/SDC-PIA/E. Samar)
