P136-M worth of shabu seized in Pasig

PASIG CITY, Aug. 23 (PIA) -- A total of P136-million worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride were seized in a buy bust operation in Pasig City, a police report over the weekend said.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) confiscated 20 kilos of shabu in an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) along Westbank Road in Maybunga at 7:00 p.m on Wednesday.

In a report, PBgen. Romeo Caramat, PDEG director, identified the suspects as Joel Narido alias “Noel”, 39, Maria Teresa Concil, 35, and Ronald Solomon, 41.

They were caught in Narido’s house on West Bank Road. Seized from them were 20 vacuum-sealed yellow foil packs inserted into bags of Daguanyin Refined Chinese Tea.

The suspects will be charged with violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

They are now under the custody of PDEG for proper filing of charges in court. (PIA NCR)
