NAGA CITY, Aug. 21 (PIA) – Nagueños who wish to gain and develop technical skills and vocational courses need not go far as the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Hub will soon rise in this City.

No less than the hardworking and kind General Director of TESDA, Secretary Isidro Lapeña visited the Pilgrim City amidst the pandemic, to grace the Groundbreaking Ceremony and MOA Signing for the Deed of Donation for the construction of the said TESDA Hub along Almeda Highway here, Aug. 18.

According to Lapeña, the Hub will be of great help for the Nagueños, especially those looking for jobs and also for the possible effect to the economy of the city.

“This Hub is where you can conduct your training and deliver a more efficient skills training. At the same time, the number one beneficiaries are the Nagueños themselves, because the training centers are in Naga, no need for them to go to other places to be trained. It benefits directly the Nagueños,’ Lapeña said.

City Mayor Nelson Legacion sees the importance of the TESDA Hub and is also hopeful that the facility will create new opportunities for Nagueños to hone their skills and capabilities, as more technical vocational courses will be offered for them to have a decent job and uplift their quality of life.

Ang TESDA training ay dagdag na benepisyo sa ating lungsod. Maliban doon, dahil nandito, nakikita po na mas marami ang mae-enganyo o mae-encourage to avail of the trainings that TESDA is going to provide. So, yung maa-uplift ay yung pamumuhay at yung quality of life. Ito yung purpose na paulit-ulit na sinasabi (TESDA training is an additional benefit in our city. And because it is located here, it can encourage more people to avail of the training that TESDA is going to provide. To uplift the kind of living and quality of life are the purposes that we repeatedly say),” Legacion elaborated.

The Local Government of Naga provided the land for the construction of TESDA Hub, that includes the land at the Metro Naga Skills and Development Center, the TESDA Innovation Center, Metro Naga Training Center, and the TESDA Camarines Sur Provincial Office.

The TESDA Hub will also be complementary to the City College of Naga where required general courses can be taught at the City College of Naga, while technical courses can be taken at the TESDA Hub. In this way, it will complete the education that the learners and trainees will get.

“Naniniwala ako, sampu ng ating kasamahan sa Gobyerno Lokal ng Naga at sa TESDA, na kapag mas marami ang mga marunong at mga produktibong mamamayan, mas uunlad ang ating pamayanan at mas magiging masaya ang ating lugar (I believe along with other workers in the local government of Naga and TESDA that the more we have knowledgeable and productive citizens, the more we can have a developed and happy community),” Legacion concluded.     (JRM-PIAV/Camarines Sur)
