Antipolo City SK Federation rolls out online, offline projects

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Oct 1 (PIA)-- The Antipolo City Sangguniang Kabataan Federation spearheads both online and offline programs for the youth despite the pandemic.

Antipolo City SK Federation President Peter Papel Jr. reports during the Laging Handa Network Briefing News program hosted by Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin Andanar that the city's local youth leaders opted to utilized online platforms to conduct various contests during the quarantine period due to the restrictions of youth below 21 years old going outdoors..

Pres. Papel Jr. recounts that during the Linggo ng Kabataan or International Youth Week last August 12, the City's SK Federation including the 16 Barangay SK Presidents worked on online contests such as essay writing, quiz bees, mobile photography and even mobile gaming where local youth could participate.

Aside from online competitions, the SK Federation also distributed sanitary kits, PPEs, face masks and face shields.

The SK Federation also provided expandable envelopes, fogging machines, disinfection machines, PPEs for public schools in line with the upcoming start of classes and implementation of modular learning.

SK President Papel Jr. also reminds the youth that small or big efforts matter in order to help combat the pandemic.

"Sa mga kapwa kong kabataang Antipoleño at sa Pilipinas alam po natin na kahit nasa loob tayo ng mga bahay alam natin na kahit anong effort na ating gawin whether big or small ay maaring makatulong sa ating problema. Stay safe lang po tayo and stay at home," SK President Papel Jr. concluded. (GG)
