Bureau of Immigration celebrates 80th anniversary; clients increase

DAGUPAN CITY, Sept. 12 (PIA) - The Dagupan City Field Office of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) is one with the nation in  celebrating the Bureau’s 80th founding anniversary this month.

Alien Control Officer and Provincial Chief for Pangasinan Christopher Abella said his team is grateful to be part of the Bureau that practices patriotism,  integrity and professionalism through all these years.

“With such valuable assets aiming for the common good, we are grateful that we are given the chance to advocate responsibility and serve our clientele here in Pangasinan and in the country,” Abella told the PhiliPpine Information Agency.

Despite the pandemic, Abella said the Bureau has continued with its operations, practicing minimum health protocols for its personnel and its clients.

“Even with the many factors influencing our nation’s over-all state of well-being, we ultimately stay transparent, loyal and concrete to serve and pledge our fulfilled calling to regulate persons towards securing our borders, protecting our fellowmen and promoting full-blown national economic development,” Abella added.

Incidentally, even with the pandemic, the number of  BI-Dagupan City Field Office clients even doubled.

In 2019, monthly average number of clients served was at 200.

This 2020, an average of 488 clients are served every month.
