CagVal RIATF okays MECQ for Solano

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Sept. 5 (PIA) the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force For the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (RIATF-MEID) yesterday has approved the request of the local government unit of Solano, placing the entire municipality under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

Governor Carlos Padilla said Solano's MECQ bid, contained in a resolution by its Municipal Task Force on Covid-19 (MTF-COVID-19) on August 31 was endorsed by the Provincial COVID-19 Task Group (PCOVID-19TF) to the Regional IATF as required under rules on reclassification of quarantine protocols.

"We have presented the resolution of Solano MTF-COVID-19 yesterday during the 25th CV-RIATF meeting through a teleconference and appealed to the body to consider the request that Solano be placed under MECQ and it was approved," he said.

With the RIATF-MEID concurrence, Solano's quarantine status has been upgraded from MGCQ to MECQ starting September 1 to 15, the governor said.

Earlier, Solano Mayor Eufemia Dacayo said their EMCQ bid will enable their LGU to implement drastic measures to prevent the further community transmission of COVID-19 in their municipality.

Solano town is now the epicenter of COVID-19 community transmission in the province.

Dr. Edwin Galapon, provincial health officer said six confirmed additional covid-19 cases and one recovery have been recorded for the province as of September 4.

According to Galapon, CV 672, the 42-year-old male from Didipio will be discharged any time today. He also clarified that CV 326 who was marked as "HQ" on the List of Confirmed Cases obtained from the Provincial Integrated Health Office yesterday is already cleared and declared recovered. This brings the total number of recoveries to 35.

The additional cases are as follows CV 867, a 38-year-old female from Osmeña, Solano with exposure to her father, CV 817. She was swabbed on September 2 and the result came out positive for the virus. She is currently admitted at a quarantine facility.

The next case is CV 877, a 36 year old male from Ballesteros St., Osmeña, Solano with exposure to his father, CV 817. He was swabbed on September 2 and the result came out positive for the virus. He remains asymptomatic as of posting.

A 20-year-old male from Roxas, Solano tagged as CV 878 was known to have an exposure to his co-worker, CV 832. He was swabbed on September 2 and the result came out positive for the virus. He remains asymptomatic as of posting.

CV 879, a 16-year-old male from Silawan, Quirino, Solano wa exposed to his father, CV 693. He experienced COVID-19 symptoms (cough, sore throat, loss of sense of smell and taste) on August 19 and was swabbed on September 2. His result came out positive for the virus.

CV 880, a 40-year-old female from Danguilan St., Poblacion North, Solano was exposed to her husband, CV 836. She was swabbed on September 2 and from the information forwarded, she is currently at the quarantine area for watchers of COVID-19 cases at R2TMC.

CV 884, a 26-year-old female from Bagahabag, Solano was traced to have history of exposure to positive cases at a certain fitness gym in Solano. She experienced COVID-19 symptoms (cough and loss of sense of smell) on August 23 and was swabbed on September 2. Her result came out positive for the virus.

Galapon said the total active cases per municipality as of 8 AM, September 4 is at 102 cases with 77 cases in Solano, 15 in Bayombong, four in Bagabag, four in Quezon, one in Villaverde and one in Sta. Fe.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
