CALAMBA CTIY, Laguna, Sept 15 (PIA)--Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) again distributed another set of 16 land ambulances to government hospitals and rural health units in the region during a simple turnover ceremony held at the open court of the Quirino Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City.
“These land ambulances are necessities and are essential help especially now that travel restrictions are currently imposed due to the pandemic. “Kailangan nating makaresponde agad lalo na sa mga emergency covid patients natin para madala sila sa pinakamalapit na health facility at mabigyan ng agarang lunas upang hidi na rin makawa pa ng iba at kumalat sa komunidad,” Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo stated during his opening message.
For the distribution of the units, the regional office is prioritizing emergency covid-19 facilities.
“Inuuna muna nating binibigyan ng ambulansya ang mga hospital at health facilities na tumatanggap ng mga covid patients, especially the covid responder hospitals para mapabilis ang pabibigay ng kanilang serbisyong pangkalusugan at pagdadala ng mga pasyente sa mga isolation facilities natin sa rehiyon”.
Eight set of land ambulances were turned over on September 9, 2020 and another set of eight last September 11, 2020.
To date, DOH CALABARZON has turned-over a total of 46 land ambulances to various health facilities in CALABARZON.
Each land ambulance is equipped with medical supplies needed for emergency response including automatic external defibrillator, nebulizer, portable suction machine, examining light, aneroid sphygmomanometer, folding stretcher, scoop stretcher, heavy duty stethoscope, and oxygen cylinder. Selected recipients of land ambulances were also given LED TVs with flashdrive containing COVID-19 Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials that will be used to disseminate proper and essential information about the virus. (PIA-4A/DOH CALABARZON)
