TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Sept. 26 (PIA) - - Governor Manuel N. Mamba of this province has commended the efforts of the local media practitioners in the dissemination of vital information and education campaigns to contain the spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Mamba said in over seven months since the start of the global pandemic, the local media never ceased to inform the public on the trend of contagion as well as the protocols, guidelines and related policies.
"You are performing a great role in educating the public on this pandemic as well as in encouraging them to stay at home and to help prevent further spread of the virus," Mamba said.
He further said the media serves as the bridge between the policy makers and program implementers to the public.
"By giving constant reminder to the public in fallowing the minimum health standards set by the government and presenting them our situations in facing this pandemic, the public are made aware of their role also to prevent them from being infected by the virus," Mamba said.
The pronouncement was made by the governor during the inauguration of the newly built production studio of the Cagayan Provincial Information Office.
The said department will also launch its "Teleradyo" program next month, the first of its kind in the region, which will use live streaming over social social to update the public on the development programs of the provincial government.
The program will allow the different departments to present their programs, projects, activities and accomplishments to let the Cagayanos know of the efforts of the provincial government to improve their living status and the economy. (MDCT/OTB/PIA-Cagayan)
