CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Oct. 19 (PIA) - The Local Chief Executive of this province has placed the entire City of Ilagan under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) due to the continuous rise of COVID-19 positive patients in the city in the past week.
Gov. Rodolfo Albano III, chair of the Isabela Provincial Task Force on COVID-19, signed Executive Order No. 37, Series of 2020 as a measure to contain and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the City of Ilagan.
“The Isabela Prov’l Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 considers it necessary and urgent to enforce a Containment Zoning Strategy to contain and prevent the spread of the virus, protect the people of the capital city and the province as well,” Albano said in his order.
The EO took effect on Oct. 16 and will last until 8:00 PM of Oct. 30. It is recalled that the RIATF has concurred the request of the city to be placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) because 42 of its 91 barangays have registered COVID-19 cases. Its MECQ status took effect from Oct. 6 to Oct. 15.
“The present scenario calls for a full and sincere cooperation of all constituents and the concerned Local Government Unit, as a unilateral decision to restrict the movement of people and cargos,” Albano said.
Stricter checkpoints are now imposed in the city manned by police, medical workers and BHERTS to ensure that all movements in and out in the city are properly checked and comply with the quarantine protocols while hospitals, industries to include agriculture, forestry, livestock and other essential movement of goods and services are in full operation.
Albano called on all IsabeleƱos to religiously follow all health and safety protocols to avoid the accumulation of COVID-19 and urged them to always wear face masks and face shields as protection especially when going outside. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
