QUEZON CITY, Nov. 1 (PIA) — As of 6am today, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Command Center has recorded a total of: 1,883 passengers, truck drivers, and cargo helpers; 70 vessels; 119 motorbancas; and 826 rolling cargoes STRANDED in Bicol, Southern Tagalog, NCR, and Eastern Visayas due to Typhoon #RollyPH.
A total of 165 vessels and 45 motorbancas are also TAKING SHELTHER in said regions as a precautionary measure against possible threats of the tropical storm.
This morning, PCG Commandant, Admiral George V Ursabia Jr has directed Coast Guard units to coordinate with the PCG Auxiliary for the preparation and repacking of relief supplies to aid families and frontline personnel amid the onslaught of Typhoon #RollyPH.
Once the weather stabilizes, said supplies will immediately be transported to the most affected communities using Coast Guard vessels and land vehicles.
PCG deployed a total of 1,131 personnel to inspect vessels and monitor passengers in all ports and waterways across the country.
The Coast Guard Aviation Force is also on standby for the possible deployment of CGH-1451 and CGH-1452 to survey the extent of damage nationwide and identify far-flung areas in need of urgent relief and medical assistance. (MTQ/PIA-IDPD with information from PCG)
