CALOOCAN CITY, Oct. 29 (PIA) –A cooperative in Metro Manila embraced the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) being espoused by the government as they receive 19 modernized PUVs yesterday, October 28, 2020.
997 Sandigan Transport Cooperative in Quezon City, was awarded their Provisional Authority for the 19 Class 3 Modern UV Express units that will ply the route from SM Fairview to Buendia Ave. The UVE units are equipped with Euro-4 engines and accessories such as dashcams, CCTV, speed limiters, Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS), and WiFi.
“Taos puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa LTFRB, lalo na kay LTFRB Chairman Atty. Martin B. Delgra at LTFRB NCR Regional Director Atty. Tamayo. Tuloy-tuloy ang aming suporta sa PUVMP ng ating gobyerno, at patutunayan namin na kami ay handa na manilbihan sa bayan,” said Mr. Ferdinand Lupangosy, Chairman of 997 Sandigan TSC that received the 19 Modern UV Express units.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board – National Capital Region, led by Regional Director Atty. Zona Russet-Tamayo, together with Atty. Marisse Albertine Angeles, representatives of the Office of Transport Cooperatives, Hino Motors Philippines, Quezon City local government unit, and members of 997 Sandigan TSC led by Chairman Lupangosy and representatives of various transport cooperatives in Metro Manila attended the launch
In a statement, The LTFRB-NCR regional director said, amid the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, modernization of PUVs continue to push through, showing tremendous determination in LTFRB’s belief that the program can be implemented with the help of the stakeholders to achieve the greater good for the public land transportation system.
The PUV Modernization Program is the flagship, non-infrastructure project of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte with the goal of providing a comfortable life for all Filipinos through a safe, reliable, convenient, affordable and environmentally-sustainable public transportation system in the country.
