CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Oct. 20 (PIA) - The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) here has implemented the “No sailing, No swimming and No fishing” in the four coastal towns of Isabela due to threat of tropical depression #PepitoPH.
The policy, according to PDRRMC, is automatically implemented before, during and after catastrophe particularly typhoons.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecasted that Tropical Depression #PepitoPH is expected to make landfall in the Aurora-Isabela area with sustained winds of 50 - 70 kilometers per hour.
PDRRM Officer Retired Police Brig. Gen. Jimmy Rivera said rescue units of the PDRRMO are on standby mode and are ready to respond to any emergency situation.
The PDRRMC convened yesterday to prepare for the effect of TD Pepito including the rescue units of different member agencies of the council.
Relief goods were already prepositioned in various parts of the province to be given to the affected Isabeleños.
Meanwhile, liquor ban was also in effect since yesterday when PAGASA placed Isabela under Tropical Wind Signal No. 1. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
