PASIG CITY, Oct. 15 (PIA) -- The City Government of Pasig turned over on Wednesday electronic gadgets for students and teachers, as well as non-teaching staff of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP).
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto led the turn over rites of the tablets for around 3,500 students of the city university and some 70 laptops for the teaching and non-teaching personnel.
On his Facebook page, Mayor Sotto thanked PLP President Dr. Amihan April Alcazar and the entire PLP admin for adjusting quickly during these difficult times.
“Para tayong gumawa ng bagong sistema – mula enrollment hanggang sa classes mismo – nang dahil sa pandemyang ito. Di man magiging perpekto ay makasisiguro tayong di titigil ang pag-aaral ng mga PLPians,” said Sotto.
Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo, together with other city officials, and representatives from the students, faculty, and non-teaching staff were also present during the event.
Meanwhile, the local chief executive also said that they are looking into the possibility of providing gadgets to other college students enrolled in other schools. He also encouraged them to inquire with the Pasig City Scholarship Office.
“For Pasig resident college students enrolled in other schools (gaya ng RTU) ... although we can't procure tablets for you, we will see what we can do. Please inquire with the Pasig City Scholarship Office.” (PIA-NCR)
