Prov’l gov’t deploys 1,300 learning facilitators to DepEd-E. Samar Division

BORONGAN CITY, Oct. 17 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Eastern Samar through the leadership of Gov. Ben P. Evardone hired and deployed 1,300 Learning Facilitators (LF) for the Department of Education (DEpEd) Eastern Samar Division.

The 1,300 LFs were deployed to the elementary and secondary schools at the Eastern Samar Division.

DepEd Eastern Samar Division adopted the modular type of learning modality when classes started on October 5, 2020.

The LFs will help the parents and teachers go about the ways of modular learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gov. Ben P. Evardone initiated the hiring of the LFs in order to help both the DepEd in Eastern Samar Division.

It was learned that LFs are all required to report three times a week and their school head is their direct supervisor.

The compensation for these hired LFs will be shouldered by the provincial government and their compensation is P300 per day, while the DepEd responsibility is to assess the work of the LFs.

Mr. Abner C. Aclao, DepEd information officer said that DepEd Eastern Samar Division has 27 districts and has 108,697 total enrollees for the School Year 2020-2021 with a total number of teachers of 4,956 in both public and private schools.

The pupils and students enrollees for the school year are the following: in public school, there are 7,473 kindergarten pupils, 49,539 elementary pupils, 33,288 junior high school students, and 12,480 senior high school students, and 1,283 Alternative Learning System (ALS) students, while in private school, there are 497 elementary pupils, 3,325 junior high school students, and 812 senior high school students.  (nbq/SDC/PIA-E.
