Hedcor opens new bridge, boosts farmland accessibility of Higaonon farmers

MANOLO FORTICH, Bukidnon, Nov. 26—At this time of pandemic, Hedcor, the run-of-river hydropower arm of AboitizPower, finds value in supporting livelihood and helping host communities to improve self-sufficiency.

One of the ways to do so is by linking farmlands to access roads to improve ease of transport of local goods.

As such, Hedcor turned over a concrete passage which doubled as an animal crossway to provide a convenient and safe access to the residents and local farmers. The concrete passage amounting to about P700,000 was ready for the locals’ use in Barangay Santiago, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon after a two-week construction.

“We are very thankful to Hedcor for this project. This passage and animal crossing is definitely useful especially to our farmers,” shared Barangay Captain Jerville Senagonia.

“This will further motivate them to continue their livelihood amid this difficult time,” he added.

Barangay Kagawad Heleborn Moncado also thanked Hedcor for the continued support. “This is especially helpful for the farmers in transporting their products. Despite facing a pandemic, this did not become a hindrance to serve the needs of the community," he said.
