ILOILO CITY, Nov. 11 (PIA) – Sixteen violators in Iloilo City rendered community service as their penalty for not wearing masks in public.
These violators augmented the personnel in-charge of the Iloilo City Government Beautification Program.
They helped in cleaning, greening and beautifying streets and open spaces all over the metropolis, a post from the Iloilo City Government official Facebook page said.
Iloilo City Regulation Ordinance (RO) No. 2020-085 that amended the penalties of RO No. 2020-061 mandates the wearing of a face mask or face covering in public during a pandemic/epidemic period to increase the fine and include community service of eight hours for three consecutive days.
The wearing of face masks in public is one of the ordinances in the city to prevent further spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
